Martha’s Vineyard has a robust system of protecting land and making it available to the public for hiking and looking at views, and even sitting on the beach. Duarte Pond is included in the Blackwater Pond Reservation and is a wonderful spot all four seasons. In this photograph I was taken by the reflections of the surrounding trees and the polka dots of the lily pads. It was a serene moment.
